On legacy Bertazzoni induction cooktops such as the P304IX, P365IX and P365IME, the digital power indicator keeps flashing after you turn an element on and set a pot or pan on it, and there is no heat. The official reason is that the pan is not suitable for induction cooking, or its diameter is under 10 cm (4 in). Nothing is broken; the cooktop simply does not detect usable cookware.
1. Test the pan with a magnet; it should stick firmly to the bottom. 2. Use a pan with a base of at least 4 inches and center it on the marked zone. 3. Turn the element off, set the correct pan on it, and turn it on again. 4. If a suitable pan still gets no heat and the display keeps flashing, call us.
The cooktop is telling you it cannot use the pan. Either the pan is not induction compatible or its base is under 10 cm (4 in), so the element refuses to start.
Only if its base reaches the minimum of 4 inches. A smaller pan is treated as unsuitable, and the display keeps flashing instead of heating.
A magnet that clings to the base is the simple test. Aluminum, copper and glass without a magnetic layer will not work. If magnetic pans of the right size are ignored, we should test the cooktop.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
