Bertazzoni Cooktop Code Fc: Overtemperature Shutdown, Let It Cool

What Fc means

On the legacy Bertazzoni induction cooktop P365IME, the control reads its own working temperature as too high, stops every heating element and shows F followed by a second letter, here Fc. On the PE244CER and PE304CER radiant cooktops, Fc is an overtemperature error from the touch sensor above 105°C. All heaters turn off, and the code clears once it drops below 95°C. The cooktop is unusable until then.

On the PE..CER the code clears once the touch sensor temperature falls below 95°C, so it depends on how hot the cooktop got. On the P365IME, simply allow the cooktop to cool down.

Is lowercase Fc the same as FC?

No. Fc means overtemperature, while capital FC on the PE..CER is a security key error for the on/off receiver. The case matters, so please read the display carefully before you call.

What should I avoid doing?

Do not keep restarting the cooktop while it is still hot. Let it cool, keep the vents clear and use lower power. If Fc comes back on a cold cooktop, we should test the sensor.
