On the legacy Bertazzoni induction cooktop P365IME and the radiant PE244CER and PE304CER, FL is a keyboard error tied to the ambient light condition seen by the controls. With the heaters off and locked out, the display shows FL, the zones stay cold, and the keyboard is not accepting commands. It sits in the same F-letter group as the other key errors.
1. Check for a bright light or reflection shining straight onto the control area. 2. Wipe the keys clean and dry, and remove anything lying on them. 3. Turn the breaker off for about a minute and restore the power. 4. If FL still appears, leave the cooktop off and call us.
The keyboard error on the PE..CER refers to the ambient light condition. If the controls read the surrounding light incorrectly, they cannot trust the key signals, so the cooktop locks the heaters.
Moving a strong lamp away or shading direct glare is fine as a quick test. Do not lay anything on the controls. After that, restore the power and see if FL clears.
If FL returns in normal room light after cleaning and a power restart, the keyboard or its sensing needs testing. We would diagnose it and give you a written price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
