On Bertazzoni radiant (Hi-light) ceramic cooktops in the PE..CER range, such as the PE304CER and PE244CER, Ft is a touch NTC error, meaning the NTC temperature sensor on the touch control reads as open. As a protection, all heaters turn off and are locked. The display shows Ft and the cooktop stays off until the control is repaired. The glass itself stays cold.
1. Turn all heater controls off and let the glass cool. 2. Dry the glass and touch panel with a soft cloth. 3. Switch the cooktop off at its breaker for one minute, then on again. 4. Try the controls once. 5. If Ft returns and the heaters stay locked, leave the cooktop off and call us.
Ft means the touch NTC sensor reads as open, FE means it reads as shorted. Either way the control cannot read temperature, so it locks every heater.
The cooktop locks all heaters when it cannot read its own control temperature. That protects the electronics, so no heater will work until the sensor circuit is repaired.
A breaker reset is safe to try once. If the sensor circuit is open, Ft will come back, and then you should stop using the cooktop and call us.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
