On current Bertazzoni induction cooktops with TFT and hidden-slider controls, such as the PE304TX, PE365TB, PE304TC, PE304HB and PE365HB, the letter L on the display means the child lock is activated. It is not a failure. The controls are locked so the zones cannot be turned on by accident, and you will have to switch the lock off before cooking.
1. Make sure all zones are off. 2. Follow the control panel steps for your model to switch the child lock off, usually by touching and holding the lock key. 3. Wait for L to leave the display. 4. Start the zone you want. 5. If L stays on after you release the lock, call us.
No. L simply shows that the child lock is active, a feature meant to keep small hands from starting a zone. Cooking is blocked until you turn the lock off at the control panel.
Use the lock key on your control panel, usually touched and held for a moment. The exact touch depends on whether your model has a TFT screen or a hidden slider.
Check that the glass is dry and clean, since moisture can stop the touch from registering a long press. If the lock still will not release, call us and we will check the controls.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
