On Bertazzoni professional induction cooktops such as the PE244INDXV, PE304INDXV and PE365INDXV, the power indicator can be on while the heating does not start. The official causes are an overheated cooktop (blocked ventilation paths or a high room temperature), a cooling fan that is not working, or a technical error. A separate case, where operation stops suddenly and the pan icon shows, means the automatic detection function has failed.
1. Switch the cooktop off and let it cool for a while. 2. Make sure the ventilation paths around and under the cooktop are not blocked. 3. Restart with a flat magnetic pan centered on the zone. 4. If it stops again or the pan icon returns, stop and call us.
The pan icon is what appears when operation stops suddenly because detection has failed. Overheating shows up as a power indicator that stays on while heating does not start.
Let the cooktop cool, and make sure the ventilation paths are free and the kitchen is not unusually hot. Do not store items underneath that block airflow.
A fan problem usually comes with the power indicator on and no heating, often after the cooktop has run a while. A detection failure stops cooking suddenly with the pan icon. We test both on site.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
