On Bertazzoni professional induction cooktops such as the PE244INDXV, PE304INDXV and PE365INDXV, Et means the overflow protection has tripped. Liquid has spilled on the cooktop. The remedy is to remove the spilled liquid and switch the cooktop back on. Heating stops while Et shows. Owners usually see it after a pot boils over onto the glass or controls. The cooktop stays out of action until the surface is dry.
1. Switch the cooktop off and remove the pan. 2. Wipe up all spilled liquid from the glass and the control area. 3. Dry the surface completely. 4. Switch the cooktop back on; if Et stays on a dry surface, call us.
It is a protection response. The overflow sensing noticed liquid, so the cooktop stopped heating. Cleaning the spill and switching it back on normally resolves it.
Any moisture left on the keys can keep the protection active. Dry the glass thoroughly, including the edges, before you switch the cooktop on again.
If Et appears on a perfectly dry and clean cooktop, the overflow sensing may be reading wrongly. We would test it and give you a price in writing first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
