On Bertazzoni knob-controlled 30-inch electric wall ovens such as the F30PROXV, F30CONXV and FD30PROXV, and on DFS XT dual-fuel ranges, a door that will not open usually means the oven is still in self-clean mode. The latch locks for safety at cleaning temperatures. It releases by itself when the oven reaches a safe temperature, which can take a while after the cycle ends.
1. Check whether the CLEAN indicator is lit or flashing. 2. Leave the door alone and let the oven cool. 3. Do not pull or pry at the door handle. 4. When the oven is cool the latch releases and the door opens. 5. If the door is still locked hours after the oven is cool, call us.
No. During and after self-cleaning the latch stays locked on purpose. It releases on its own when the oven reaches a safe temperature, so patience is the fix.
It depends on how hot the oven got, but it can take quite a while. The door will open once the cavity has cooled to a safe temperature.
Turn both selectors to OFF and wait for the latch to release. Never force the door. If it stays locked after the oven is fully cool, call us and we will test the latch.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
