Bertazzoni FD30PROXV Double Oven Repair

A pair of cavities share one 30-inch opening in the FD30PROXV, an older electric double wall oven. The upper, main cavity offers convection bake and a self-clean cycle with a motorized latch, while the lower one is the smaller helper for side dishes.
Because each cavity has its own sensor and elements, a complaint nearly always belongs to one side. We run both at the same set point and see which one drifts. A lower cavity that underperforms points us to its element or sensor, and trouble after a cleaning cycle sends us to the main cavity latch.
This unit predates the double ovens sold today, so parts are matched to the FD30PROXV itself. You get the price in writing before we begin, and we cover our repair for 30 days.
No. The two cavities work independently, so one can fail while the other is fine. We test the elements, sensor and control feed for the cavity that is cold and leave the working side alone.
Self-clean belongs to the main cavity. The second cavity is cleaned by hand, so avoid running a self-clean cycle with accessories from the other cavity inside it, and wipe spills before they bake on.
After self-clean, the motorized latch stays locked until the oven cools and the switch signals release. If it stays locked after cooling, the latch motor or switch may have worn, and we can free it without bending the door.
