On Bertazzoni knob-controlled 30-inch electric wall ovens such as the F30PROXV, F30CONXV and double FD30PROXV, and on the matching self-clean dual-fuel DFS XT ranges, broil may seem dead because the temperature knob has been turned too far past the broil position, beyond 500F. When that happens the PRE-HEATING indicator lights on and off and the broil element does not come on as expected.
1. Turn the temperature knob back to OFF. 2. Set the function selector to broil. 3. Turn the temperature knob slowly to the broil mark and stop there, not beyond 500F. 4. Leave the door as the instructions for broiling advise and watch whether the element glows red. 5. If the PRE-HEATING light still blinks and the element stays dark, call us.
On these ovens a blinking PRE-HEATING light with no broil can mean the knob was turned too far past the broil position. Return it to OFF, then turn it to the broil mark and stop.
Broil is at the top of the knob scale, around 500F. Going further than that mark is what triggers the intermittent PRE-HEATING light, so stop right at the broil position.
Then the element or the control itself may have failed, which means a real repair. Turn the oven off and call us. We test it and give a written price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
